evaluation

This assignment was fun to do because we went on two different trips to the Harry Potter Studio and Stonebridge Farm. I enjoyed taking pictures of the studio and the animals. Later we had to make three creatures and a board game for the assignment. The main problem I had was taking the pictures because in the assignment brief it said that we need to book our own cameras but I thought that our teacher was going to book the camera. I had to take the pictures using my phone and  that the consequences would be the pictures I took wouldn't be clear however I took the risk. I learnt from my mistake that I should always book the camera myself even if the teacher tells us that he is going to book it.

At Stonebridge Farm I took pictures of different animals
for example horses, pigs, chickens, ducks and a goat,. The assignment brief said that we had to make three different creatures from the Stonebridge Farm trip. On the Harry Potter trip we had to take pictures for our board game and then we added our creatures to the board game. I took pictures of my board game background so I found amazing props at the studio, I took about fifty pictures but I chose one because that looked good for a board game.
The only problem I had was the time management because I missed one lesson and we had a long half term including Expo Week. To resolve it I will update my blogs at home.

I had to create my own creatures by combining two parts from two different animals.
I chose a duck and dog and I cropped the dog and put that layer on to the body of the duck.
The second creature was made from two photographs one was a pony and the other was a goat. I repeated the process and put the cropped goat's head on to the horse's body to create my unique creature.
I really enjoyed the assignment and I am looking forward to doing something similar and I hope the mistakes I made won't happen on the next assignment. Next time I will take better pictures to make my work look good.
My main ideas for board game was to add my three creatures and it would be like a ludo game and you have to throw dice and go around the circle to win. I researched on all harry potter board games such as "Mystery At Hogwarts" but I came up with my own idea

This is my board game. I used Adobe Photoshop, the first thing I did was put my background on and used a ruler to measure the sides and then I started editing my images. The measurements were 297mm and 420mm. Later I added my title, quote and target audience. The font I used was something like Harry Potter and it's called " Harrington Regular" I used vending options to make my writing look good, the vending option changed my font style to a 3D font and it looked better. The last thing was to put my creatures on. The way to put my creature on the same layer is to go to file, open, select the image then drag it to the same layer and it's done. I put my creatures on the middle because it shows how many players can play the game which is three. This will make the player to look on the title and then he would look down to read more and he'll look at how many players can play.

I am happy with my final outcome and to improve it I will try to get a better background.

my 3 creature

This is my final design for my first creature.
The tools I used were quick selection tool, clone tool and cropping tool. Later I tried blending in the images to make it look real and the image was successful . I received some feedback from my class and they liked the image that I produced.

This is the same image but I used cropping tool to crop the background.

This picture was a dog's face and duck's body but sadly I couldn't save as a jpeg file because my time management wasn't on track. The tools I used are cropping tool, free transformation and blending tool. The image quality wasn't good because I used my phone to take the image. I used this for my second creature.

This was my third creature I used a sheep's face and a pig's body to make it look unique. The tools I used were cropping tool, free transformation and blending tool. The problem I encountered was the image quality because I used my phone and to resolve this I will use a professional camera next time.

my final 6 images-Mark Epton

I have chose this because I wanted to make a unique picture which has a horse body and goat head which actually makes a new creature.

My second image is going to be a duck's body and a dog's face.

My final design is a pig's face and sheep's body.

contact sheet

contact sheet
This is my first contact sheet which has some of my animals. Most of my pictures was blurry because I used a phone and my camera has low megapixels. I had less time so I took a quick picture. The images are different lightning because some of the animals were in the shelter and some were on open spaces.

I took a portrait format of my animals where a problem encountered which was that the background was useless. To resolve it I will take the picture landscape for some animals if needed in future because it will pick up more details for animals and it won't crop out the animal.

Some of my animals were cropped out such as the goat's ear and the cow's full head. If I took it landscape then there will be more detail picked up and the goat can have his ear back.

health and safety stonebridge farm

While we are walking to the farm things we will encounter are traffic. To avoid it we need to stay as a group. Another problem we will face is crossing the road. To avoid that we need to be as a group.
At the farm we need to be aware of animals attack because they are frightened and fragile. Large animals can attack also, to avoid that we need be behind the bars/fence. Do not touch the animals because you can catch germs but if you touch them use anti-bacterial gel. You might have a hazard of tripping, to avoid that you need to watch where you're going. There are chances of raining to avoid that we need rain coats and umbrella so we can keep the camera safe

Proposal Stonebridge farm

stonebridge farm proposal

I will be going to Stonebridge farm with my class and take pictures of the animals that I have chosen. There are two different animals in each group for my photography. First I will take pictures of rabbits and horses. The rabbits are small and fragile with soft fur coats and I will be aware of their weakness and be careful when taking pictures. In contrast the horses are large animals that can cause damage to humans if they are startled and frightened. I will ask one of the farm workers to help control the horses whilst I take pictures. The second group are goats and cows and winged animals. There will be workers on each section of animals and I have to ask permission to take pictures of my chosen animals. The third group are sheep and ponies, again I have to find a worker and ask permission to take the animals' pictures.
